Has been undoubtedly been extremely special and enjoyable.
Hehee. Pardon my envy wrenching and solemn opening, but yes ! My 18th has been so wonderful, I couldn't have asked for anything better.
For the past few hours, I have been picking carefully on the photos that would be added into this entry to remind me in future of exactly how wonderful my 18 was. And for the past hour, I have been loading these photos into the post.
With the advancement of technology these days, you would think that photos should be uploaded with a snap two fingers. But no ! They had to take me one hour, thus, having me fret that that would snatch me of my blogging inspiration.
Hehee. But it's good to know, not only am I not at a lack of inspiration, I am actually gushing.
Ah, the power of a beautiful mind.
(ahahaha. okay la. that's a little too much even for me.)
Alright. Now I start my entry proper.
Yay !! 18 ! How magical is that? It's like I was 5 yesterday, and after a couple of foggy events and incidents, I am now 18 and ready to take on the world. Ahahahahaa.
Today's the day of my birthday, but I feel like I've celebrated it for the past week so much so that on the actual day, it's time for me to take a break. And blogging about it is my best idea of a break !
If you have so carefully read my sincere typing up till now, do go on to finish the entire entry. Because as I have said, every word here that marks my 18th is sincere, and specially thought by me. Both to help me remember the day in future, and also to thank the people who made it special. Hehe.
(also to haolian on how lucky and happy i am la ! but you all no need to know that right??)

If there's any part in this that makes you feel like strangling for being so hatefully blessed, well then. I am sorry but all I can say is, I am indeed extremely hatefully blessed. And to the bone. (:
On the weekend before my birthday, I stressed and planned and plotted my way to spending a night in town together with my favourite girls in the world.
And that I did.
After days of turning the entire web over trying to decide on the best price compromising and glam'est (i patent this word!! ahaha) hotel, I gave up and settled for Meritus Mandarin in town.
Because price comprising and glamglam simply don't come together in Singapore it seems.
And so Meritus Mandarin it was !

Wednesday, the day before my birthday, was to be the day I celebrate with my favourite person in the world !!!

Heheheee. It was a really long day. Met up with Wen Hao right after school in town.
I was so excited waiting for my present and everything !!! Turns out that it was all worth the wait. AHAHAHAHAA.
Okay la. Don't keep saying. Later really get strangled.
Went for a movie before anything else to past the time.
Burn after reading? Hai. I felt like it was more like Burn after watching.
But never mind that !
... Wa. 12 am now leh. Very tired.
But no ! I have to finish writing this !!!!!
Okay back.
After the dinner, we didn't have much to do and I was reeaaaaaaaalllly huuuungry having not eaten the whole day. So we headed down to Suntec, to catch a quick bite !
Funny leh. The usually packed places during weekday like an abandoned city.

Finally finally !!!!! Tony Roma's opened at 6pm with almost an empty house. Dinner usually means present opening time, so over here, I am super duper excited secretly. Hehee.

Hehee. Actually no la. Tony Roma has this wonderful service where they get you to check your beef to see if it's properly cooked as you like it. If it's notm they'll change it for you !Wen Hao being the kia su boy that he is, actually did check the meat and changed it. Actually I think they knew there was a problem with it la so they offered to change.
And the meat tasted heavenly !!!
(and here siying starts nagging ay us about how mean we're being for eating red meat)
Tao Yan la. Everytime I eat beef also I will be scared of being scolded by her. Lol.
Heheee. After the dinner, Wen Hao kept asking me to guess my present and to open it.

Anyways, I did open the gift and it was daaaaaaamn (i don't even use this word when writing!) oh my.
One look at the present- and I felt guilty, embarassed, bad for all the times I've been unreasonable and having argued with him.
Also, along with that line of emotions, I felt reeeeaaaallly happy, touched and stunned by it.
But then again, alot of it I felt heart pain la. Kind of expensive leh.
What's more is that he carried the gift the entire day that I made him walk up and down town. I didn't even realize it was so heavy in the beginning lo !!! So poor thing. Those lousy plastic bags are seriously not made for carrying heavy stuff. >:(
Oh, and where's the gift you ask?
Wait la. Ending can or not. Too many photos on that la. Hehee.
So while still comprehending the full weight of my present opening, we sashayed (i felt like that was how i walked after the present. in a dreamlike manner. or a trance) around and ended up in Raffles City.
Went to the basement to have some dessert. We're all gluttons. (:
Hehe. the candle on the table. I actually made someore birthday wishes and blew this one out.
Mocha, cake and apple pie. This part of the night was my favourite.
Hahahaha. And then so funny la ! The entire day he was abit siansian cause the gift was so heavy and difficult to take, plus his leg was peeling off.I mean skin.
He didn't even mention the blister until he finally showed it to me and I got the plaster.
And then the entire time while putting on the plaster, he kept saying, " like girl like that, like girl like that leh" and "Very gay leh".
Lol. What more can I say...
Passed by and couldn't resist a photo. Raffles raffles raffles.And there, the night ended with a long walk in the city and a peaceful bus ride back home. (:
Oh and before anything. Thanks to my Dad who decided to get me this ! Passed it to me almost a week earlier and I am uber touched. A little tiny, but am extremely glad that he remembered.This is the peak of my adult life leh. Every important detail also must write ok? (:

And that. Is the best new blog name I managed to produce after long minutes of pondering and consideration. Thank you very much.
Lol. Before all that, yay !! I'm back to blogging ! A couple of days ago, in the spur of a moment (perhaps of chancing upon other people's blogs), I felt like writing again. However, taking a look at my old blog (if you remember), the purple pastel colours completely bored me out.
Thus ! I decided (in another spur of the moment) to come out with a new blogskin ! Ahem. And since I was on the subject of changing new blogskins, I decided to have a new site name too. Thinking of the new site name completely stopped me in my tracks. Cause it's so difficult to come up with one ! I needed a name to incorporate with my blog design well ok ! I am professional leh.
Hehee.
Not that that blackcarrotcake is a very professional name, or even has any link to my design (ahem!), but aiya. I think it's okay ! I've loved black carrot cake since I was a tiny child ! It's black, saucy, soft and smells nice ! Plus it has eggs and chai poh (whatever you spell that) and those two combinations are a match made in heaven. Thus, the name.
Okay la. Please don't judge me by that blog name okay. Take a whiff of it and I'm sure it'll start to grow on you.
Anyways "how-troublesome" is not any much better than this ma.
And and ! I completed the entire design of the blog myself !! I cut and layered the photos and picked out the colours and make that few japanese flag lines behind !! (surprisingly, those grey rays were the hardest to make for me).
I tried other blog names but they either did NOT look good on the design OR were unavailable on blogspot. Very tiring and difficult to keep trying interesting names okay !
I even tried CHAITAOKUEH.blogpot but that was taken too. Seriously. You can check.
Though.
I did kind of steal the main picture's idea from somewhere. Still, I salute my own brilliance for designing it. *Salute* And many thanks to deviantarts' many picture contributions. You guys are lovely artists.(:
The next thing on the list that made me want to blog in the first place, would be the list of events that have taken place since my looooooooooooong hiatus.
Unbeknownst to some of my friends out there, who thinks that I have been diligently(: working at Funan for my entire holidays, I am instead completing my ITP.
ITP, is a lazy term Singapore Polytechnic uses. It stands for Industrial Training Programme which also means internship, or attachment.
For almost 5 weeks since exams ended, I have been working nonstop (and by nonstop I mean every single day), in That's Innovative, my events company, and in Funan.
Hai.
It's not that the ITP is really bad. It's just incredibly taxing and tiring. I mean the LONG hours, the work, the thinking process.
Before you think I am being completely gratuitous, I am grateful for all that has been taught to me during these time. The people at the office have been extremely helpful and all that.
It's just that sometimes I can't be help but think that $400 is an extremely small amount. The amount I have spent on cab fare the last month is horrendous and I feel so guilty everytime I take a cab to work or home. The amount probably exceeds the $400 I'm given. It's not okay to spend too much just because I am lazy leh. And that frustrates myself even more.
And I miss the people at Funan more more than ever. Especially more during the start of the ITP. );
Plus there's nothing good to eat here ! Hai.
Alright, negative things aside ! I tell myself that this is a good experience and I've learnt quite alot.
On a lighter note, I am now at my favourite month of the year ! Hehehehe ((((:
Oh ! And and ! I feel abit paiseh saying this but have any of you guys been watching GossipGirl Season 2? I can die watching them. I can't believe this simple soap drama which revolves around spoilt beautiful young upper class people is escalating to take Prison Break's place in my heart !
It's all because of that Chuck Bass.

Good day everybody !
Haha. Yes, I'm in a splendid mood as you can see.
Just arrived home not long ago. So-so around-ed... and lo behold ! An hour got eaten away just like that.
Ha ! But it's okay... it's ok.
I crossed my first hurdle on this very day ! Yay ! One term test down, three more to go !
Every once in a few months, there's always this big hurdle that you just got to carry yourself and leap across. Well, in this case, it's the term test.
Haha. This hurdle's more like a great giant dive, where you just take a deep breath, say a prayer, stick out your leg, and leap ! Into the waters below ! You stress for a good few minutes before taking the 5 secs dive. HAHA !
And after today, I believe I'm already 1 and a 1/2 seconds into the dive. Yay !
If it's the semestral exam, then that's an entirely different story. That's more like a long jump. A very long, jump. Boo. Hm. Do I sound a little nuts? I should. I woke up at 6 plus am today. Bah, humbug.
Hehee. Considering that I watched America's Next Top Model Cycle 9 for all of yesterday until 8 plus before starting- on dinner, till 9pm, and later showered, till 10, well. I'm glad to say I used the rest of the night quite condusively by finally starting on Econs revision.
I was able to complete that lousy Econs paper today ! Yay. It should at least fetch me a pass this time. Hehee.
(of course i hope to get a better grade than a mere pass...)
(but these things say out very pantang one)
So a mere pass it is !
Hehee. Many many thanks to Si Ying and Wei Ting gave me that little push to prepare for the dive. Hahaa. It is indeed wonderful ! To have a couple of JC friends.
Hmp. If you notice, the slide thing at the side of the page has been poking a little of itself into my posts. Pfft.
But never mind ! Nothing shall get in the way of my good mood today. In a little while, I'll be on my way to cross the second part of my hurdle, which is the AVS module. Hooo hooo.
I can feel my good mood diminishing already. No way can I pass that in a thousand years. Lol.

Finally, I do hope that what is to come will be a pleasing and genuinely written post- after my long hiatus.
With that, I can assure you that I do have a special treat for you guys.
Hehee. Actually, you can very well scroll to the end of the post- where the treat's located, but be warned, that is an extremely impolite thing to do. Not to mention, the guilt from that action will probably accompany for the remaining of this week. Muahahaha.

Okay. So. Thanks to the dinner I had a night ago, my blogging spirit has been abruptly rejuvenated.

Back to the dinner.
My friend had recommended me this place where he claimed served the best Japanese food in Singapore.
So barely a day after the recommendation, I was there !
Lol. Talk about an unforgettable dining experience.
The place's located at Far East Plaza fittingly named Wasabi Tei. Okay...
The eatery's really small. Like tiny small. Lol. It's unlike anything we've seen la. I think it's only slightly bigger than Naruto's favourite Ramen place. Hehee.
This is the snap I took of the outside ! The shop consists only of an U-shaped counter, which sits a little less than 20.The Chef's an uncle, and the only helper he has is his wife.
I tell you ar, I never in my life had this sort of dining experience before lo. The Uncle really fierce la ! Lol.
Upon our sitting, he tossed this half-chewed menu to us. I was like okay...
Actually I couldn't stop laughing la. So funny right ?! For a customer to be intimidated by the Chef?
I tried to decide on my order as quickly as I could lo.
They served this little appetizers to all their customers, which I thought tasted really good la.
Oh ! And the cod fish there is also really superb !!! Until now, more than 24hours later, I can still recall the taste of it on my tongue. Salty, sweet, and incredibly juicy man.
I only managed to get a shot of this sashimi. I didn't really dare to take photos la. Scared the Aunty chase us out.Oh oh ! I also got told off leh ! Because I was looking at their menu, and I was like folding their menu, then the Auntie called for me to stop as it might damage the menu. A few of the other diners looked my way and snickered la. So ps.
But it wasn't offending or what la. More than anything, I found it really funny.
So tense la the atmosphere ! Imagine all the customers sitting obediently on their chair and all trying not to make too big movements in case the Chef chased us out. I doubt that he'll really do that la... but then again. You never know. Hahaha.
