4:11 PM
And once again, our little Elaine's flying off!
And it still feels like you returned just last week.
):
Still, at long last, we got to properly celebrate your birthday with you !
(our lovely girl's birthday falls on the 14th, the day belonging to Valentine)
So it's not every year that we get to celebrate her birthday with her okay. I'm sure that soon enough the year will come when she personally dissuades us from celebrating her B Day with her because she has to spend it with her special someone. He he heeee.
So this year, we had a nice dinner celebration the day before, on Friday the 13th no less.
Had Fish n Co. like we most often do.
Talked, ate and talked until it was time for the cake, candles and song !
Haha ! So funny la. She was asked to stand on a chair and given the little sparks on sticks to play with.
Our Elaine very on one leh.
And the entire restaurant sings for her.
More photos to add to our collection.
What is this? Like the 25th birthday celebration we've had together?
And no, that's not Elaine's new boyfriend. Hahaaa(((:
And I guess this photo wraps up my short post.
The day after was wonderful. Had the loveliest Valentine's day, thank you. Hehehe.
Okay ! Got to send Elaine off at the airport later (once again), and wait for her return at the end of this year.
That's all again.
Toodles you alll.

10:11 PM
Gosh.
I am so frustrated, you have no idea !
It's 12:48am right now, I have yet to shower, I got caught in the rain today (i dont' care however small it might be), I have been trying to update this post for the last- 3 months !!! and till now I've only written 3 very short paragraphs.
Lol.
So that explains my long hiatus.
Why does some technology always have to be so slow- tedious- and complicating?
Not to add- frustrating.
Why can't I simply load ALLLLL of my photos into this kuku blog by just highlighting all of them and clicking my right button?
Doesn't technology understand that if I don't update on my Taiwan trip, I can't go on to update any of my life's recent events??
Because I forgo updating on the trip and write about something else, I'll never get the chance to update on it again !!
In case you're wondering what's the big deal, I can never skip blogging about present events and skip back to blogging about past events.
Because my life takes place in a very organized manner, thank you.
Hehe, and thus- here is my 3 months effort on simply UPLOADING the bazillion photos on my the trip.
And a bazillion photos it really is, most of them are of me, so brace yourselves ! Aha !
Oh oh, and digressing for awhile, in case if I sound like I'm in a bad mood, I'm not.
Just a teensy bit frustrated of Blogger- but besides that, I'm almost jubilant.
Because my exams are ALMOST over, I completed the toughest module there ever was (facilities construction) and I've got my life back !
Heheee. I've forgotten most of the stuff on trip but- the great ones I do remember.
So here goes.
(:
The familiar Singapore Airport and the first photo to kick off my 500 odd photo post.
(no, i'm not kidding.)
The ride was terrible and I was absolutely nasty to the air stewardess.
Sorry !
Don't know why leh. The feeling of being in such a tight space and ears and brain so tight, blearrrghhh.
And slowly but surely (actually quite fast la), here we are !
Ahem, by the way.
I'm afraid you're mistaken TW, WE are number one.
Hehehehee. I do think that Singapore has a smashing airport.
It's 16 degress out there !
And here i was thinking, naïve me, "where got cold?! 16 degrees only what. Same as our aircon room. Chey, luckily i didn't bring much clothes".
Hehee. Boy, was i wrong.
Oh oh ! And our first stop.
(happened so long ago, i don't even remember what most of these places are called already la.)
Anyways, this place was the one where the rocks form, and there's still particular rock that formed to look at a queen's head. That's exactly what they call her (the stone) in mandarin.
It's a really pretty place. Hold on !
Oh, and really alot of photos of me la. Hehe.
EH ! What, if you went holidaying you would take alot of photos also okay.
Don't judge me hor.
The place is bigger than it seems. See the white dot on top? That's a house, but not really sure what it's for leh.
Breeding grounds for mosquitos.
So many stalls inside, and we only had the time and stomach to try a few.
):
The frog eggs drink.
It's quite a normal drink la. A liiittttle bit sour like our "suan mei" drink but with tiny little round jelly thinks inside.
At first I thought they were really frog eggs or what leh.
The the tour guide must have thought I'm siao. It's just jelly. -_-
Aha ! And now ! There was this stall at the very end of the marketplace, where a japanese guy sells mua chi. Hehe.
I bet you've never seen this sort of variety before right.
Don't get too hungry hor.
I can't remember what flavour this was. Should be dark sugar or something.
The white chunks are the muachi !
And my very favourite ! Cheese !
Never thought of it right? Muachi with cheese. It was less cheesy and more milky instead.
Still, lovely !
The muachi so Q leh. Hehee.
And this is... peanut powder or something.
I'm not really a big fan of it cause the fine powder gets stuck everywhere inside your mouth when you chew on the muachi. Really irritating.
This is the store owner and the dots on the fridge are his orders. So many right.
Can you guess what's this??
I think not la.
It's chicken's backside.
Surprisingly, it was reeeaaaallly reeeeaaaaally good.
The many stalls.
And then there was this famous stall (most of the stall inside there sold the same thing but this was supposed to be better or something), which sells Taiwan's famous must try Orh Ar Jian !
(did i spell it right?)
Tadah ! Looks good right?
But I don't know how it tastes leh. I always thought that it's a bit disgusting.
Abit smelly. But my brother said it's very nice. Oh well.
Oh, and this place, the resort we went to... erm, what's that again.
The hot spring la. Haha.
The pictures really doesn't do the place justice.
If I remember correctly, this place is called Yang Ming Shan 陽明山 (so curiously chinese right?!)
(like some kind of olden days place).
At first we felt a bit sick. Didn't sleep the whole night, then must go here go there, now must bath in hot spring?!
But luckily, it was extremely rejuvenating.
Haha. There's my brother inside there. The springs someore got flavour one leh.
If i'm not wrong that should be coffee or green tea.
p.s, the clothes I went down to the spring with had to be thrown. Cause all of them smelt badly of coal.
Anyways, the springs were burning, which was really shiok, and your skin becomes really soft and supple after you come out of it.
Waa ! And i really just want to add ar, by looking at these pictures you'd think the weather was quite hot.
But ! It was like 14, 15 degrees (in my opinion) and everywhere we went, whoo !
There was like this soft cooooold breeze blowing. Ahh. How very unnatural for me.
It was like those after winter winds you get, but much more comfortable. And when you breathe rights, it's so smooth and cleeeaaan.
And then there's the sun, and the wind, and just the open air air conditioning like atmosphere, you never get tired !
Unlike Singapore, so humid.
Ask me to walk down orchard while breathing in the moisture- can get really tiring and mood dampening already.
No wonder we youngsters always get sick and irritated walking outside.
Our first hotel night. We went to quite a few, 7 if I'm not wrong. Some were good, some were okay, and some were kind of lousy.
But this was okay. Also TW doesn't use the same kind of plugs we here use. So I had a bad time trying to charge my camera and phone.
American breakfast.
A temple we stopped at.
(i think we visited a couple. like 2 or 3.)
And then this was the place we stopped at. I can't remember the name, but it's far away from Taipei and on a mountain. The place that Tony Leung supposedly made famous with one of the movies he played.
The first day i wore quite little thinking that I could handle the weather.
But no, the second day was the worst.
You know how for winters, you usually prepare for it and wear really thick clothes?
But for this, nope. We were all hao lianing around that it's not cold but when it rained- lol.
There was nothing that braced us for it. My fingers couldn't even feel anything and I was just sooo desperate to get a pair of gloves !
Ha! My Dad who unlike us, didn't get any gloves when he got the chance claiming it's not cold.
I bet he was shivering under that raincoat. -_-
Tuorists and hawkers.
Over here, when we spoke, got that cold mist coming out someore lo.
太平洋。
We passed this ocean many times when we were circling the mountains.
Because the entire area was dominated by these mountains, there was no way to cut through them but to circle around them to get to the next mountain.
Once we were on the coach, it was often 3 hours or so before we could get to our next destination. But hor, I realized that I preferred this more to shopping leh. The sight seeing was really something different.
There's something, so chinese about it and so, ethereal.
Gosh. I took this photo from so hight above the mountains, (the mountain roads has no barriers so it feels like the coach cold go lolling down the soiled slopes anytime), the crashing waves, unreal.
Next sight seeing stop.
The waterfall is said to be a natural one.
Cold leh.
Then there was this weird mountain opening that looks like it jumped out of an olden day war or horror movie.
One of the not-so-good hotels.
Oh ! And it was Christmas when I went. Too bad they don't really celebrate Christmas- supposedly.
Cause they're a largely buddhist country.
Up in the mountains where the
原住民 are.
Some of them quite handsome one leh. Hehe. I thought they would be dark, but turns out some are quite fair.
愛河- this should be Gao Xiong if I'm not wrong ba.
The Love River, where we took like a 30 minutes boat ride to see the buildings of Gao Xiong.
Not bad la. Like Singapore River lo.
And when we were on the road, we had lunch in a restaurant near this seaside.
Very nice right ?! So blue and not another person to be seen on the soft sands.
But it was too cold to stay out here so long la. Haha. This is also 太平洋, it spreads out far and wide.
Oh, and bubble tea. Did I mention how much bubble tea i consumed there?!
They're like 150-200NT ! Around $1 lo. And the best thing is, they're always huge, AND !
It's still bubble tea.
Nowadays in Singapore places always claims to sell bubble tea, but it's not !
Bubble tea has to be really shaken ! Like hard ! Then it will be thick and bubble and thick what.
Singapore's bubble tea tastes more like teh with milk. Pfft.
On a bigger boat right. This one made me kind of seasick.
And hor, in TW. I realized those people not living in cities like Taipei, and maybe GaoXiong la if you consider it a city- they're really quite kampong one leh.
Not that it's not good, they're really friendly and... nice lo. Plus they will speak Hokkien. (:
Dusk is almost setting in. At about 5pm.
A new day !
More muachi. TW really like their muachis. This one abit more high class la.
Place to get souvenirs. This is where i got the bunch of keychains !
Another hotel.
Another temple. This one was huge and, really interesting.
This is where i got the keychains with the cartoon Gods !
Quite radiant, isn't it?
This photo is pretty good even if i do say so myself. Ahaa.
The mighty entrance.
My brother took this one.
The Terra-cotta soldier.
He thinks he is very funny.
And lunch. Where's the food ?!
Hotel again.
I think it's cute that they call they're hotels 飯店.
And we're out again !
Where is this place I'm not sure. But in another town far down TW.
Bubble tea again ! See the bubble? This one was good.
Hehe.
賀軍翔 !!
How cuuuute.
More bubble tea.
Okay la. This stall we ordered something else.
Something sour.
Such regret, should have drank milk tea or something.
Another night market we headed to.
Junk food galore !
Oh, and the store where I bought dickies backpack for Wenhao. My brother bought one too. Singapore cheaper la. We got cheated.
Funny that when i spoke to the salesperson hor, straightaway he asks if I'm local.
And then he asks me if I need him to calculate the currency in SGD. -_-
Am I so obvious?
High tech leh they're cafes. If your order is ready, this will beep !
TW's BIG ! chicken chop. It's much better than Singapore's Shihlin. Yum.
Oh and I didn't take a photo but one of my favourites was the big sausage wrap small sausage 大腸包小腸! It was so good !!!
The big sausage is made with chewy sticky rice and it wraps the smaller sausage (which is pretty big in my opinion).
*droools*
And after all the food, I still couldn't resist trying a cup noodle from 7-eleven back in the hotel.
Up next is Chiang Kai Shek's memorium.
Cold day it was.
Really big-
and pretty lavish.
Milk tea- again ! And my gloves.
And this, is Shi Men Ding- famous shopping district !
I love Peacoats ! If only we had colder weather here.
Blogger messed up my sequence of photos again. This was supposed to be infront !
Aiya never mind la.
Press water. Haha.
View from ABOVE. What building, I can't remember.
It's a pretty huge city down there.
I wonder where's Jay?
Okay, so this is supposed to be our first day in Taipei.
What is it doing here I have no idea.
This was when I still thought that I was pretty macho to be able to handle the weather. Hahahaha.
So old the movie they still playing.
Sunset by the river.
You can actually win the bunny if you win their games.
See the red words behind? Haha !
Regret leh I didn't try.
Should have been more adventurous.
People, people and moreee people.
I didn't try this other.
They used to be really popular right? The tall ice creams?
Siao. So cold how to eat.
Bubble tea stalls.
They do intrigue me with they're many awesome flavours.
Dense, dense place.
This was seriously the cutest dog I saw there. There so many !!
Their people really really loveee their dogs ! Shopping centre and food courts also allow dogs in one leh.
The lover's bridge in Taipei.
Walked halfway only. Too far.
I stared at it for reaaally.
Oh, and this was actually the first place we ate at on our first day there.
We went there for- guess what?
Xiao Long Bao.
Was it good?
Haha. YA.
The skin is so translucent, you can can see the soup inside.
And they don't tear easily though they're think.
Another flavour. Slurp.
I'm so hungry now.
Eh? Here's the photo of the hot spring resort.
Stupid blogger.
And finally, the Old Tofu Street.
This street sells all kinds of tofu, smelly, not smelly, boiled and everything.
It was a rainy day and cold day again.
The tofu. I'm not the one eating la.
I only took a bit and it was nice.
It's not the smelly one la. I was very tempted to have the smelly one, but then scared the smell will be retained in my mouth. -o-
After watching the soldiers march, it was time for dinner.
We were having steamboat-
I've never really liked steamboat. I always felt the food inside tastes all the same and the only good taste comes from the soya sauce.
So, wasn't very enthusiastic about the meal la.
Individual pots.
My individual pot ! ((:
My neat food nicely placed in the beginning.
So halfway through, after eating abit, I gave up, and decided to make my corn soup !
He he. I think that it was quite a succcess. Tasted rather corny.
A Taiwan bus.
After that, I think we returned to Shi Men Ding to shop around and it someore.
(the steamboat wasn't very good)
And it was the time of the Red Cliff.
A stall selling bbq-ed corn.
Why there got so many hawkers stalls with such interesting food huh?
We also stopped for a late dinner at some small stall that was packed with people.
Carrot cake with special house sauce.
Funny how some $2 thing can taste better than some $20 stuff.
Noodles with salty minced meat sauce.
The tour guide in front.
Very special leh. At those crossroads, the ones where we usually have to cross two streets, they have this diagonal crossing !
So we only have to cross one. Good riiiiiight?!
Am i just kiasu or what?
Taipei 101.
): I love bomber and faux leather jackets too.
But I've never wore this jacket again once since i returned to Singapore.
Not used to wearing faux leather here la. So ps.
Hai. Why can't it be slightly colder here?
The lunch we had was over here.
I think that this restaurant (yup, the entire building) is a spanish or brazilian design. The inside is like 4 storeys tall can?
The very very lavish inside. This is the first storey by the way.
One level's seating.
And another.
My camera fell in here and I thought it was okay. Turned out that i was damaged. ):
Hehee. One of favourite meals there. Lost my dad they all while shopping around Taipei 101 area.
So decided to try their Mac before returning to the hotel.
The nuggets abit different but still very nice la.
And hor ! Their green tea are all the japanese types. Not sweet at all even the bottled ones.
So when Mac told me that they had green tea after I asked, I thought that I would finally get to drink the Heaven and Earth one that Mac has here.
But alas, it was the same Japanese type. Hai.
Blue, blue skies.
And also got treated to a lovely breakfast !
Look at the time now.
Two days to finish writing this. Oh, well.
At least I can blog about something else in future !
I better go and study for my final module.
((: See you guys around !!
